Karv One Design Wins at HomeJournal Awards 2026

Karv One Design is pleased to announce that Chantilly, a private residence in Hong Kong’s Mid-Levels, has been awarded Bronze Winner in the Large Apartment category at the 2026 HomeJournal Awards.

Inspired by the timeless elegance of Château de Chantilly in France, the project explores the relationship between classical aesthetics and contemporary living, creating a home that balances architectural refinement with a relaxed, personal atmosphere.

A Contemporary Interpretation of Classicism

Chantilly is defined by its classical detailing, considered proportions and contemporary sensibility. One of the key design challenges was the arrangement of structural columns of varying dimensions between the original floor-to-ceiling windows, which disrupted the continuity of the surrounding views.
Working with the existing structural framework, the design team introduced a series of continuous arches to unify the columns and establish a cohesive architectural language. Beyond bringing visual order to the interior, the arches conceal curtain tracks and smart-home devices while framing Hong Kong’s ever-changing cityscape like a series of living paintings.
The result is a lighter, more relaxed expression of classicism—elegant yet unpretentious, refined yet comfortable.

Designed Around Family Life

At the heart of Chantilly is a home tailored to the needs of a family of four. Bespoke furniture, carefully selected materials, layered lighting and thoughtful spatial details work together to support the family’s lifestyle and daily routines.

The shared living spaces encourage connection and conversation, while private areas offer moments of quiet and retreat. Classical elements provide a timeless aesthetic foundation, complemented by contemporary furnishings and a sense of ease that reflects the family’s individual character.

For Karv One Design, residential design extends beyond visual expression. It begins with an understanding of how people live, what they value and how a thoughtfully designed environment can enrich their experience of home over time.

Chantilly embodies this philosophy: enduring elegance emerges from the balance between architectural character, personal identity and the freedom to live comfortably.
